Nadja of Antipaxos
Barn Name: Nadja
Reference: What We Do In The Shadows
Hello, my little darlings. I am Nadja, and you may admire me now.
I am a 5-year-old Percheron x Thoroughbred mare, standing a magnificent 17 hands high, which is an appropriate height for a creature of my importance. I am a beautiful bay, I am very sweet when I choose to be and I have already done more interesting things than most horses twice my age. I was purchased from T.H.A.N.K.S.-A-LOT Farm in West Virginia, where apparently they realized what a magnificent creature I was and decided that Wrenacyn should have the privilege of knowing me.
I am an eventer, have competed up to Beginner Novice, because apparently we are supposed to start somewhere. I have also been fox hunting, mostly in Second and Third Field, although I have very naturally spent time in First Field as well. I am an incredible trail horse, forward, flashy and unflappable. Oh, jumping? Oh, darling.
I am brave and scopey, with excellent technique, which is really just a fancy way of saying that when you point me at a fence, I jump it beautifully. I am schooling 2'9" courses, have my lead changes, and I have schooled fences up to 3'3" with plenty of room to go higher.
I have also been to several shows and events and, unlike certain people I could mention, I understand that one should behave oneself when out in public. I am mannerly to ride at shows, have good ground manners, and am generally a sweet mare.
Generally.
I am still only five, so there is plenty more for me to learn, and my humans seem very excited about giving me more education and watching me grow over the coming years. Personally, I think they are excited because they have finally acquired a horse of appropriate stature and sophistication.
I am brave. I am athletic. I am experienced. I am elegant. I am also a giant baby who would like affection, attention, and preferably to be informed regularly that I am beautiful. If you happen to see me galloping across a field, flying over a fence, or looking absolutely magnificent while everyone else struggles to keep up, please remember:
I did not become this fabulous by accident.
It is simply what happens when you are me.
