Welcome to the Poolesville Elementary School Equestrian Club!
Overview
The Fall 2026 PESEC Season starts September 8th. Eight hour-long meetings will be offered with an emphasis on teamwork and horsemanship.
Objectives
Teach responsibility, accountability, teamwork, independence, cause and effect, and confidence
Encourage healthy interpersonal relationships, holding boundaries, and uplifting peers
Provide a safe space where young riders feel safe, heard, respected, and appreciated
Place an emphasis on the importance of good horsemanship and a comprehensive understanding of horse behavior
Bring young riders up to their full potential under saddle and on the ground.
Club Structure
PESEC will meet from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on the following Tuesdays:
9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 11/3, and 11/10.
Riders are expected to show up at the time of the lesson, or a maximum of 5 minutes early.
Eligible riders will be provided the opportunity to compete in in house shows and clinics for an additional cost.
A mix of under saddle instruction, as well as on the ground horsemanship skills.
Attire:
Shirt Covering Shoulders and Midriff
Full Length Leggings or Pants
Close Toed Shoes - Sneakers, Rain Boots, NO CROCS
Water Bottle
Optional:
ASTM Certified Helmet
Riding Leggings/Breeches
Boots with Heel, minimum ½”
FAQ — General Club Questions
Q: How many lessons are there per season?
A: Plan on attending 8 lessons in the Fall Saddle Club Season.
September: 8th, 15th, 22nd
October: 6th, 13th, 20th
November: 3rd and 10th
Q: Does my rider need to own a helmet, boots, riding pants, etc?
A: No, Wrenacyn will provide helmets and boots for riders that do not have their own, but riders who do have their own equipment are encouraged to bring it.
Q: How are horses and classes assigned?
A: Instructors place riders and horses based on safety, horse compatibility, rider level, and horse availability.
Q: Are riders required to attend both clinics and shows?
A: No. These events are optional at an extra cost.
