VS Chipped in Blue
Barn Name: Bane
Reference: A Blue-Chip Renaissance Man
Every once in a blue moon, a horse comes along who refuses to specialize in just one thing. A horse who can show Western, explore dressage, hit the trails, pop over a fence, or simply stand in the pasture waiting for you like the world’s largest puppy. That’s our Baner
Bane is an 9-year-old, 15.2hh true blue roan AQHA gelding, foaled in 2017, and he is every bit as handsome as his name suggests. His pedigree reads like a who’s-who of the Western performance world. He is sired by the renowned VS Code Blue, an AQHA high-point Western Pleasure and Trail stallion and 2018 Super Horse, by RL Best Of Sudden and out of the legendary Vital Signs Are Good. His dam is Chipped N Chocolate, by Chips Hot Chocolate, with multiple lines tracing back to the influential Zippo Pine Bar. However, pedigree only tells you where a horse came from. Bane is all about where you can go together.
He is a true all-arounder who seems to approach every new discipline with the same attitude: “Sure. What are we doing?” Western pleasure, ranch riding, trail, English, dressage, jumping—Bane is happy to explore it all. He is intelligent, quick to learn, forgiving, and genuinely wants to please his rider.
Bane is comfortable and smooth to ride, with an easy jog and rocking-horse canter. He is responsive, versatile and willing. On the trail, he is brave, sensible, and confident, whether leading the way, following along, or heading out on his own.
But Bane's greatest talent may have nothing to do with riding. This horse is a people person.
He is quiet, patient, gentle, and exceptionally easy to have around. He will hang his head out of his stall for attention, follow you around like a puppy, and happily stand for grooming, bathing, tacking, or simply hanging out with his people. He is respectful without being pushy, safe around children and beginners on the ground and almost everyone who meets him feels like they share a special connection with him. He also absolutely believes belly and chest scratches are an important part of his daily care.
Bane is the rare combination of blue-chip breeding, genuine talent, and an extraordinary personality. He has the ability to show, the brain to learn, the confidence to explore, and the temperament to make every experience fun.
He doesn't need you to choose a direction. He'll go all of them with you. Maybe that is the real definition of a blue-chip horse, not simply one with an impressive pedigree, but one who makes every opportunity feel like the right one.
A horse you can show. A horse you can explore with. A horse you can learn from.
A horse you can trust. A horse who will meet you at the gate because, quite simply, he'd rather be with you.
Once in a blue moon, you meet a horse who can do it all. That’s our Bane.
