Colin Robinson
Barn Name: Colin Robinson or CRobs
Reference: What We Do In The Shadows
Hello. I’m Colin Robinson. I’m a 13-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, 15.3 hands, and the first palomino at Wrenacyn, which is notable. Not extremely notable obviously, but notable enough that I have mentioned it now. I am, in fact, quite handsome, although I try not to let that distract from the more important information, such as my height, age, breed, and the fact that I am gold. Not literally gold, obviously. If I were literally gold, I would be considerably more valuable and substantially more difficult to keep in a pasture.
Most people would describe me as a Western horse, and this is accurate. I do Western Pleasure, have worked cattle, and enjoy trail riding. However, I am also a very fancy dressage horse, which people seem to find surprising. Apparently it is unusual for a horse to go from working cattle to putting on the fancy tack and carrying himself around an arena like he has an appointment at the Ministry of Horse Affairs. I don’t see the contradiction. I simply contain multitudes. Or several different skill sets, which is basically the same thing but less poetic.
Around the barn, I am quiet, easy to handle, and quite pleasant company. I stand for grooming, bathing, tacking, and the farrier, and I have excellent stall and pasture manners. I am friendly and tend to stay close to people, although I would like to clarify that this is not clinginess. I simply recognize that humans are an excellent source of snacks, attention, and occasionally useful information. It is important to maintain valuable social connections, particularly when those connections have pockets.
I should probably also address my personality, because I am aware that I can be tedious, overly explanatory, socially awkward, and relentlessly mundane. I know this about myself. I embrace it. In fact, I find it extremely satisfying to explain things that did not require explaining, provide unnecessary context, and continue talking long after everyone else has realized the conversation should have ended. You may have noticed that this bio is taking a surprisingly long time to get to the point. That is not an accident. The point is that I am Colin Robinson and if I can make you spend several uninterrupted minutes learning about a palomino Quarter Horse who does Western, dressage, trails, cattle work, and has excellent barn manners, then frankly, I have had a very successful day.
So yes, I am handsome. Yes, I am talented. Yes, I am versatile. But more importantly, I am interesting in the most tedious way possible, and I am completely delighted that you are still reading.
Thank you for your attention. I’ll be happy to continue.
