Rooted In Unity

About Us

Rooted in Unity, a signature program of MGPCDC/RIDE MoCo, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to creating opportunities for everyone in our community to experience the joy of horsemanship and the outdoors. We believe that horses and humans thrive together — forming deep connections that support healing, growth, and confidence.

Our vision is a thriving, inclusive community where people of all backgrounds, including underserved and disadvantaged groups, can connect with nature, horses, and each other. We aim to be a hub of harmony and inclusion, empowering individuals through horsemanship to develop confidence, compassion, and unity with the natural world.

Rooted in Unity exists to provide affordable horseback riding lessons and horsemanship experiences to community members who may not otherwise have access. Through our programs, we nurture personal growth, foster meaningful connections, and build practical, life-enriching skills in a welcoming, supportive environment.

We collaborate with schools, community organizations, service providers, local businesses, and nonprofits to deliver hands-on, inclusive programming rooted in compassion, education, and empowerment.

Our Programs

  • Volunteers play an essential role in caring for our horses and supporting our programs. Volunteer hours and designated volunteer days offer opportunities to help with barn chores, horse care, facility upkeep, and special projects. Whether you’re looking to give back regularly or join us for a specific day of service, volunteers are welcomed and appreciated.

  • Coffee hour is a relaxed, come-as-you-are gathering that invites you to spend unhurried time at the barn. Participants enjoy coffee and tea while being near the horses—watching, visiting, or simply sharing space. This program is about community connection, conversation, and calm presence, offering a low-pressure way to experience the barn and local community.

  • Wellness at the barn blends mindful movement with the grounding energy of the farm. These guided sessions take place in view of the horses, and sometime within the space of Wrenacyn’s minis, and focus on gentle, accessible practices that support relaxation, breath, and body awareness. Participants are invited to move at their own pace while enjoying the quiet rhythm of the barn.

  • Horsemanship Hour offers a hands-on introduction to horses and barn life. Participants learn about horse behavior, basic care, grooming, and safe handling, building confidence and understanding through direct experiences. This program emphasizes learn with horses rather than performance.
