Josie is our remarkable 15-year-old Percheron/Thoroughbred lead mare! Josie’s journey began at the age of seven when she was trained by the Amish before finding her home in a fox hunting program. With a passion for jumping and a love for speed, her favorite moments are spent soaring over jumps with a joyful spirit.

As the firm but steady leader of the herd, Josie works alongside her boyfriend, Pirate, the lead gelding, to keep the herd strong and supportive of each other. Over the years, she has developed incredible confidence, showcasing the perfect blend of Percheron and Thoroughbred traits.

Whether she’s leisurely strolling on a longe line with our beginner students or flying high over jumps with our advanced riders, Josie adapts to every challenge with grace and enthusiasm. Her versatility and heart make her an invaluable part of our team, and she continues to impress everyone who rides with her.
